Bulgaria Economic Outlook
Positioned at the crossroads of Europe and benefiting from full EU integration, Bulgaria is an emerging economy with a diversified structure that combines a strong services sector and a well-established industrial base within the single market. The adoption of the euro on 1 January 2026 further strengthens its economic integration and eliminates currency risk, while labor market conditions remain stable, with unemployment rates consistently among the lower levels in the region in recent years.
Bulgaria’s GDP growth is projected at approximately 2.8% in 2026, supported by recovering domestic consumption and deeper integration into European supply chains, while its membership in the Schengen Area further facilitates cross-border mobility and trade.
Supported by an investment-grade credit rating (BBB+), Bulgaria offers investors a combination of resilient growth, one of the lowest debt-to-GDP ratios in the EU, and a highly competitive fiscal regime, making it an attractive option for long-term investors.
